How to make Christmas Extra Magical

How to make Christmas Extra Magical

by Gaby Pritchard

It’s finally getting to that magical time of the year, and almost socially acceptable with everyone to start your Christmas celebrations …

Are you someone that starts their festivities in November, or are you a strictly 1st of December only? Do you love Mariah Carey or does the sound of her voice give you a headache? Do you have a real or a fake Christmas tree? Everyone’s Christmas’ are very different, but I’m pretty sure the main focus is making it special for their families. Minikidz has a few ideas of how to make it extra special this year.

Twinning is Winning

There’s nothing better than a fresh pair of brand-new pyjamas to snuggle down in on Christmas Eve. What about matching family pyjamas for the whole family to really help you delve into the festive spirit? If you’re feeling extra festive, you could snap a photo of you all in your matching pyjamas in front of the fire for a cheesy family Christmas card. Or cuddle up on the sofa altogether to watch a movie marathon of your favourite Christmas classics.

Festive Brunchin’

Start the big day with a festive feast, because after opening all those presents, I bet you'll have worked up an appetite. From Rudolph shaped pancakes, to smoked salmon bagels or Christmas spiced bread with a buck’s fizz to wash it all down – it will make for a lovely treat on Christmas morning. Just make sure it’s as indulgent as possible, because it’s Christmas Day and you can’t have it any other way!

Chocolate Charcuterie

…. because Christmas is all about chocolate and it will keep the kids busy whilst you put the turkey in the oven too! Grab a board, and get the kids to be creative by filling it with all their favourite hot chocolate toppings, don’t forget some syrups too. For a little inspiration the toppings could be marshmallows, whipped cream, fudge pieces, chocolate buttons, meringues – the options are endless. Next to the board keep a large slow cooker of hot chocolate so everyone can serve themselves. Some would argue it's better than the usual cheese and meat kind of Charcuterie, but I'll leave that for you to decide...

Christmas Competition

If you manage to get the kids off Roblox (good luck with that) then a family festive game night is so much fun! Decorate gingerbread houses, have a laugh playing antler toss, hide candy canes around your house and get the kids to go on a hunt for them or have a quiet night and attempt a Christmas themed jigsaw.

Minikidz wishes you a Merry Christmas, we hope it's a special one!
